The building itself encompasses six bedrooms, two main dining areas, two private, modern pools, including one for children, and a children's play area.

Baan Kata Keeree

Baan Kata Keeree is located on over one rai (1600m²) of land at the southern tip of Kata beach on a rocky promontory overlooking the entire beach and bay and Poo Island. There is a private beach access, However, the villa itself remains very private with a remote controlled entry gate. Yacht owners can anchor their boats right in front of the villa and walk up to the main house.

Kata beach is well known to Phuket regulars as the best swimming beach on the island during the dry season, and the best surfing beach in the rainy season. The fact that 70% of it is taken up by The Club Med adds to the exclusivity factor and offers all sporting activities. Some of the best restaurants on the island, and the best wine cellar, are just walking distances away (The Boat House, The Kata Grill).

Many would argue that this is the best location on the island; private and secluded but also right within walking distance of everything you need, and located right on one of the best but not yet over commercialized beaches. As they say, location is not everything but it is most things!

The villa stands in it's own private grounds - it is one of a kind. Unlike most other developments on the island, which are part of communities, this property was entirely designed and constructed by the owner. The architect is Professor Junaphas who also designed the famous Regent Four Seasons Resort in Chiang Mai, amongst other exclusive developments. Villa Kata Keeree is easily the most outstanding sea front villa on Phuket.

The Thai-style villa is made up of four main buildings covering over 400m², with another 400m² of terraces. The middle building is two stories, giving the two upper bedrooms a view of the entire bay. The terrace space is particularly outstanding, with two levels and two swimming pools with cascades from one to the other (one is 12mx5m with a Jacuzzi and swimming jet current, the other is a kiddies' pool of 5mx2m). The fully landscaped back gardens comprise a separate house which is used as a kid's playroom, plus a tree house and two functional waterfalls one of which flows into a fish pond at the main entry level. There is another entrance sala at the top, and a separate service entrance.

For your dining requirements you have a choice of a large outdoor teakwood table which overlooks the entire bay or the indoor dining area. Both can comfortably seat 12 guests each. All indoor areas are fully air-conditioned (including the modern kitchen) with top of line recessed Mitsubishi Mr. Slim air-conditioners. All rooms have also ceiling fans. Small details such as deluxe Slumberland mattresses add to the feeling of comfort.

The house was designed for ease of living and comprises a fully equipped modern kitchen right next to the lounge/living area (it has all modern conveniences, including a large cooled wine cellar). An additional kitchen for staff use is located at the back of the compound near the covered parking area. All rooms have an unobstructed view of the sea and the swimming pool.

The entire house has been tastefully furnished with no expense barred using a combination of oriental antiques maximizing the use of colours, and different natural materials such as marble, granite and teak wood are used abundantly. Cable TV and computer/internet access are available, as is a fax machine.

The house comprises six bedrooms (four with king sized beds and two with twin singles) and six bathrooms, each with bath and separate shower, and most with private gardens decorated with ornamental statues. Part of the master bathroom looks out over the bay through an ornamental garden. The staff quarters consist of two additional bedrooms with own bathrooms. A safe is available for guest use in the master bedroom.

The entire property, including trees and pools, is tastefully floodlit at night to give maximum effect.

Baan Kata Keeree: Dining and Living Areas

The outdoor terrace hosts a classic, Asian, teak table, with places for twelve to wine and dine comfortably and is perfect for an evening dinner beneath the stars. The pool is close by for an extended evening of relaxing and a late night swim.

Before or after dinner you may choose to have a drink or night cap in the main lounge area. Special accent pieces such as the Buddhist monk, blue and white ceramics and Asian art pieces make it an interesting room for quiet conversation and relaxing. The comfortable sofas sit eight people. From the main lounge area look out into the Andaman Sea while waiting for dinner or reading a book.

Baan Kata Keeree: Kitchen

The main, western style, kitchen is equipped with a microwave, an electric oven, a water boiler, a coffee pot, and a toaster oven. It is your complete kitchen away from home for all of your in- house dining requirements. A complete Thai Style Maid’s Kitchen is near by on the premises. The western kitchen is fully air conditioned.

Baan Kata Keeree: Bedrooms

The villa encompasses 6 bedrooms including one master bedroom, tastefully decorated in Asian style. At the foot of the king sized bed lie 2 angled lounge cushions. The room has a stereo, television set, computer and Internet services, and a fax machine. Relax in the confines of your bedroom while still having the ability to be in touch with your business back home.The luxury ensuite washroom has a corner tub with enough room for two and is designed for maximum privacy in black and yellow marble to give it a sophisticated style.

The second guest bedroom, the blue room, is perfect for a visiting couple. It has a king sized bed, desk and is also nice and private for a teenage member of the family. The blue room has its own adjacent washroom facilities, as well as a small refrigerator.

The third and fourth guest bedrooms are the pink rooms, one having two twin beds and the other a king sized bed. The teak furniture and accents give the rooms a warm feel. Each room has a private view of the garden though the ensuite washroom, fully equipped with single tub and shower.

The fifth and sixth guest bedrooms are the more conservative green rooms, similar in layout to the pink rooms in that one has two twin beds and the other a king sized bed. You can view the lush gardens through the floor to ceiling windows. The green rooms are located on the upper floor of the house.

Each room has a fresh supply of towels and linens and can be made up daily at your request.
